Blood Alcohol Calculator
Rough estimate for MPU context, anonymous, no data storage.
What this value means for the MPU
For the MPU, what matters is less the individual value than the drinking pattern behind it. A calculated value signals a quantity that assessors will scrutinise: how often, in what situations, and with what level of habituation was alcohol consumed? What counts is how honestly and credibly you can explain this incident later.
The reference threshold is 1.6 per mille: above this level, a heightened tolerance to alcohol is generally assumed. This is factual information for contextualising drinking behaviour, not a pass or fail, and not a judgement of you as a person.
How the calculator works
The calculator uses the Widmark formula, the same basis used in practice to estimate blood alcohol levels. Your drinks determine the total grams of alcohol consumed, which is converted to a per mille value using body weight and sex. The absorption since the first drink is then subtracted.
Inputs: drink type and quantity, body weight, sex, and elapsed time.
The body breaks down alcohol slowly, around 0.15 per mille per hour on average.
Individual factors such as daily condition, stomach contents, and drinking pace are not accounted for.
The result is therefore an estimate and cannot replace a measurement.
